Privacy policy
viik reviews, reformats and finds jobs for a resume inside the chat assistant you already use. It keeps no resume database, has no accounts, and sends your resume nowhere except back to your conversation.
Effective November 2, 2026
Who provides viik
viik is provided by Montcao LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, which is responsible for the information described here (its “controller”, in the words of European data protection law). Questions about this policy go to [email protected].
What viik receives
Only what you choose to give it, for the task you choose:
- Your resume, as text you paste or a PDF or Word file you attach in your chat or upload on viik’s screen. A resume usually holds your name, contact details, work history and education.
- A job description or target role, if you ask viik to compare your resume with one.
- The review your chat assistant writes about your resume, which viik checks against your own lines and scores.
- Changes you make to your resume on viik’s screen.
- Filters you set when finding jobs, such as a place or remote only.
- Job preferences you save on viik’s screen: a target role, a minimum pay and a work model, each optional.
- A second opinion or fit check your chat assistant writes about the jobs viik found, which viik checks against your resume and the posting and scores.
When you prepare a job application, viik copies only contact details your resume already states, such as your name, email and phone. It leaves empty everything only you can answer, such as work authorization, salary or notice period, and never guesses one. The voluntary self-identification questions, such as gender, race or disability, start on “decline to answer”, and whatever you choose there stays on viik’s screen and is never sent to viik’s server. viik does not save the application, submit it, or contact the employer.
viik does not read your files, folders, drives, other conversations, or anything your chat assistant remembers about you. It asks for no account, no email address and no payment details.
How it is used
To do the task you chose — review, format, find jobs, check your fit for one, or prepare an application — and to show you the result in your conversation. Nothing else. viik does not use your resume to train any AI, show you advertising, build a profile of you, or contact employers, and it never sells or shares your information with anyone.
viik runs no AI of its own. The judgment in a review comes from the chat assistant you are using; viik checks that every point quotes your resume and calculates the score with a fixed rubric. The same holds for a job’s fit score.
How long it is kept
A resume viik reads is held in the server’s memory, not on disk, and is deleted 30 minutes after viik reads it. Each change you make to it on viik’s screen starts those 30 minutes again, but never past two hours from when you first gave it to viik. You can remove it sooner with the remove option on viik’s screen, or by asking your assistant to have viik forget it. The job list, any second opinion on it, your job preferences and your fit checks are held the same way and are removed with the resume. A server restart deletes everything at once. There is no database of resumes, no backup and no copy.
Your conversation itself, including anything you pasted into it, is kept by your chat assistant’s provider under its own policy, not by viik.
What viik counts
viik counts how it is used, never who uses it. Each day it adds up:
- how many conversations connected to it, from which assistant (Claude, ChatGPT or another), and whether the person had signed in;
- how often each of its tools ran, and whether it worked;
- how many reviews, formatted resumes, job searches, fit checks and applications were finished, and which file type a formatted resume was saved as.
These are numbers and nothing else. They hold no name, no resume content, no word you typed, no IP address, no device or browser, no account and no identifier of any kind, not even a scrambled one. viik keeps no record of any single request, so the counts cannot tell one person from another or say whether anyone came back.
The counts are held in the server’s memory. Once a day, and when the server stops, that day’s totals are written as one line to the log of viik’s hosting provider, Alpic, where they stay for as long as Alpic keeps its logs. No number below five is ever written as itself: a small total is written as “fewer than five”, and a smaller part of a total is left out, so that a small number cannot point to one person.
Who else is involved
- Your chat assistant’s provider, such as Anthropic for Claude or OpenAI for ChatGPT, which runs the conversation viik works inside. Its own privacy policy covers what it keeps.
- Hosting providers. viik’s server runs on Alpic, and this website on Vercel. Like any web host, they may record standard request information, such as an IP address and the time of a request, in their own logs. viik itself writes no log of resume content; the only line it writes is the daily count described above.
- Public job boards. Job matches come from postings companies publish openly, collected ahead of time. Your resume is matched against them on viik’s server and is never sent to a job board or an employer.
If you write to [email protected], your message is kept by viik’s email provider, Proton, under its own privacy policy.
No one else receives your information from viik.
This website
viik.ai has no analytics, no tracking and no cookies. It remembers one thing, in your own browser: whether you chose the light or dark theme.
Children
viik is for people aged 16 and over. It is not directed to anyone younger and does not knowingly receive information from them.
Your choices
You decide what to share and can remove it at any time, as above. Because viik keeps nothing once a resume is removed or expires, there is no stored copy to request or correct afterwards. To ask about anything here, write to [email protected].
If you are in the EU, the UK or California
viik uses your information because you asked it to do a task with it, and only for as long as that task needs, as described above. You may ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your information, or object to how it is used, by writing to [email protected]. Because viik deletes a resume within two hours at most, there is usually nothing left to give or delete by the time a request arrives; viik will tell you so. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Alpic, which hosts viik’s server, Vercel, which hosts this website, and the chat assistants viik works inside may process information outside your country, including in the United States, under their own safeguards.
viik does not sell or share personal information, as California law uses those words, and does not use it for advertising of any kind.
Changes
If viik changes what it receives or keeps — for example, by adding accounts so a resume can be saved — this policy will say so, with a new date, before the change takes effect.
